Scarlet Warrior is a classic FC game, also known as "FC Scarlet Warrior" or "Contra on Water". It's a highly regarded FC game that holds nostalgic value for many gamers. If you miss the old-school gaming experience, give it a try! It used to be the favorite Contra game for this writer. Looking back after all these years, it still holds a unique charm.

Scarlet Warrior Weapons Introduction

Weapon Upgrades: There are two main weapons in the game, "Sword" and "Sickle", and two secondary weapons, "Dart" and "Thunder". After acquiring a main weapon, if you obtain the same main weapon again within a certain number of enemy attacks, the weapon will upgrade. Each main weapon can be upgraded two levels. When obtaining a secondary weapon with a corresponding main weapon level, the secondary weapon will be at the same level as the main weapon. Taking a certain amount of damage will decrease the weapon's level. Additionally, obtaining the special item "Heavenly Book" in the game will upgrade the weapon to its maximum level.

1. Sword

Level 1: Short attack range, fast attack frequency.

Level 2: Adds a longer sword energy attack on top of Level 1, extends attack range.

Level 3: Further extends the sword energy attack from Level 2, increases attack range.

2. Sickle

Level 1: Longer attack duration, can attack enemies above and diagonally upwards. Attacks twice by sending out and retracting the sickle. If too far away, can only attack enemies once; if too close, may not hit enemies. Medium to long attack range.

Level 2: Increased attack frequency (about the speed of the sword). Maintaining a specific distance can heavily stagger enemies (fast speed with two non-overlapping attacks).

Level 3: Adds Level 2 sword's energy attack to Level 2 sickle.

3. Dart

Level 1: Cross-shaped dart, moderate attack frequency, slow dart flight speed.

Level 2: Shuriken, fast attack frequency, fast dart flight speed.

Level 3: Tracks enemies.

4. Thunder

Level 1: Placed underfoot, explodes after a certain time or when an enemy touches it, high attack power.

Level 2: Thrown diagonally upwards, can move forward automatically for a certain time, explodes after a period, high attack power.

Level 3: Extends the time it moves forward after being thrown diagonally upwards, has some guidance capability, high attack power.

Tip: Obtaining treasures simultaneously by two players: If two players acquire a treasure at the same time during gameplay, the treasure benefits both players.

How to Start the Game:

Once the game has loaded, press Enter continuously to start the game.

Controls

Use the WASD keys to move the character, J key to attack, K key to jump, Enter key to start or enter the game, and Space bar to switch characters and modes.

Game Objective

Control the character to complete the objectives of each level, eliminating all enemies.

Blood-consuming Ultimate Move

Ultimate Move: Hold down the B key until the corresponding blood grid on the left side of the screen flashes, then press ↓ to unleash the ultimate move. However, the ultimate move cannot be performed if damaged during the execution process, such as by colliding with enemies or bullets, or if health is less than half, and it consumes half of the total health.

Game Cheats

Special Passwords: Enter AAAABBBBABABABAB at the title screen. If successful, you will hear a sound effect indicating entry into the special password phase, where you can select levels, activate invincibility, and increase continue counts.

3-1: 1P's B and 2P's AB.

3-3: 1P's A and 2P's B.

4-1: 1P's A and 2P's A.

4-2: 1P's A and 2P's AB.

5-1: 1P's AB and 2P's B.

5-2: 1P's AB and 2P's A.

Music test: 1P's AB and 2P's AB.

Continue count increased to 9 times: 2P's down.

Invincibility (US version): 1P's up and 2P's down.

Enhanced version:

Restore health: Press SELECT during the game to instantly replenish P1's health.
